Merlo: se inauguró el campus de la Universidad Nacional del Oeste
Con la presencia del Presidente de la Nación, Alberto Fernández, los Ministros de Obras Públicas, Gabriel Katopodis y de Educación, Jaime Perczyk, la Intendenta de Merlo, Karina Menéndez y el Presidente del Grupo Provincia, Gustavo Menéndez quedó inaugurado el Módulo de Ciencias de la Salud que pertenece al nuevo Campus de la Universidad Nacional del Oeste que beneficiará a 6.500 estudiantes de la Licenciatura en Enfermería.
El edificio ubicado en Av. Balbín y Castagnari, es el primero que entrará en funcionamiento en este predio de 2900 mts2. La obra forma parte del Programa Nacional de Infraestructura Universitaria, el cual demandó una inversión de 344 millones de pesos para poder beneficiar a los estudiantes de la Licenciatura en Enfermería.
El Presidente de la Nación recordó que se cumplían tres años de las medidas de aislamiento social para evitar la circulación y contagio del virus COVID-19, y destacó que, desde entonces, “estamos poniendo en pie y mejorando el sistema de salud de Argentina, educando enfermeros y enfermeras para que puedan brindar en la salud pública la atención a cada argentino y argentina que lo necesite”.
“Vamos a estar eternamente agradecidos por el esfuerzo que hicieron los profesionales de la salud durante esa epopeya”, expresó el mandatario y puso en valor que con la inauguración del nuevo edificio donde realizarán su formación 6.500 estudiantes de la Licenciatura en Enfermería “vamos a tener gente mejor preparada, mejor calificada y más reconocida”.
La mandataria local expresó, “Estamos inaugurando la primer etapa del campus universitario, esta casa de altos estudios que hoy cuenta con más de 23 mil alumnos en sus diferentes sedes”. Además destacó “el 23 de septiembre del 2020 firmamos la cesión de tierras y no pasaron ni dos años y medio y hoy estamos acá, con este tipo de obras que transforman la vida de los ciudadanos, en Merlo apostamos a la educación para todos y todas”.
Por su parte, el Intendente en uso de Licencia manifestó “Este es un sueño largamente esperado, lo estamos cumpliendo entre todos y no ha sido un golpe de suerte, sino que es la decisión política del Gobierno Nacional. Asimismo resaltó que el “foco de atención permanente es pensar a Merlo en forma estratégica con carreras que permiten una mejor planificación del territorio y del futuro de los jóvenes”
Durante el discurso el Ministro de Educación declaró, “El vecino tiene derecho de ir a la Universidad para saldar una deuda que uno tiene con uno mismo. Somos parte de un Gobierno que cree que la universidad es la plataforma para construir un país de producción. Esta inversión en Merlo, es lo que nuestro gobierno piensa que tiene que ser una universidad”.
Otros de los que estuvo presente fue el Rector de la UNO, Roberto Gallo quien explicó “La UNO se creó en un momento de mayor expansión del sistema universitario, para acercar la universidad al pueblo y a nuestros jóvenes. En esta maravillosa obra, tenemos aulas, auditoriosy laboratorios. Forma parte de un plan federal de 170 obras que se desarrollan en todas las universidades del país”.
Finalmente el Senador Provincial y Vicerrector Gustavo Soos comentó “Un sueño cumplido,darle forma a este campus, aunque es simplemente el comienzo de algo mucho más grande.”
Además sostuvo que “con este tipo de obas se empieza a cambiar Merlo, para que deje de seruna ciudad dormitorio y pase a ser un lugar donde los Merlenses puedan estudiar y trabaja rcerca de su hogar”.
La infraestructura se instala en un predio de 20 hectáreas, donde se llevarán a cabo una granparte de las actividades académicas, administrativas, de extensión e investigación de launiversidad. Además de ser de gran relevancia para la comunidad educativa, significa unamejora sustancial en el espacio urbano, representa mayores oportunidades para los merlenses y un impulso para la actividad económica local.
