Hospitales bonaerenses realizarán “La Noche de las Mamografías” para detección temprana del cáncer

El Ministerio de Salud de la provincia de Buenos Aires pondrá en marcha los jueves de octubre “La noche de las Mamografías”, una nueva estrategia para la detección temprana del cáncer de mama para que las personas entre 50 y 69 años se acerquen de 18 a 22 horas al hospital provincial más cercano a sacar turno y realizarse ese estudio, si ya pasaron dos años desde el último control.

La iniciativa tiene lugar en el mes de concientización contra el cáncer de mama.

En un comunicado, se indicó que el cáncer de mama es la principal causa de muerte en personas de sexo femenino por cáncer y el de mayor incidencia en esa población y se detalló que en la provincia de Buenos Aires provoca alrededor de 2.300 muertes anuales y alrededor de 8.500 casos por año.

Además, resulta el primer motivo de tratamiento otorgado por el Instituto Provincial del Cáncer (IPC).

Las pruebas con mamografía para la detección temprana de la enfermedad demostraron resultados beneficiosos a nivel poblacional en personas de entre los 50 y 69 años, que se realizan la práctica cada dos años.

Por este motivo, el IPC en conjunto con la dirección provincial de Hospitales coordinó esta iniciativa que se realizará los jueves de octubre, en horario vespertino, para facilitar el acceso.

Bajo la consigna “Acercate a sacar turno a tu hospital más cercano”, desde mañana a las 18 horas los establecimientos bonaerenses detallados en este link: http://bit.ly/3RHR2pa, abrirán turnera en ese horario fuera de lo habitual para que las personas interesadas de esa edad, puedan efectuarse el estudio.

La estrategia vespertina apunta a evitar el desborde en las horas pico hospitalarias, y poder atraer así también a la población que hace tiempo no se realiza una mamografía.

El objetivo es lograr que más de 2.000 personas accedan al estudio de mamografías en los 4 jueves de octubre en los hospitales bonaerenses que participan. También se buscará extender la iniciativa a los establecimientos de dependencias municipales que cuenten con mamógrafos en funcionamiento.

En octubre se conmemora el mes de la sensibilización sobre el Cáncer de Mama, instaurado por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) como una forma de promover la detección temprana, diagnóstico, y tratamiento adecuado.

Si bien es el cáncer más frecuente en las mujeres y personas de sexo femenino, si se detecta de manera temprana hay muchas posibilidades de curación.
