El ministro de Obras Públicas de la Nación, Gabriel Katopodis y el intendente de Almirante Brown Mariano Cascallares recorrieron las obras que se llevan adelante en el hospital Emilio Burgwardt de la localidad de Longchamps con el objetivo de sumar un nuevo espacio sanitario para combatir la pandemia de Coronavirus. Allí se habilitarán 45 nuevas camas para la asistencia e internación.
En un trabajo conjunto entre Nación y Municipio se realizan tareas de reacondicionamiento con mejoras edilicias en dos sectores del centro de salud (ubicado en Rivadavia 1256, Longchamps), los cuales serán puestos en valor para la asistencia de pacientes portadores del Covid-19.
Los trabajos, que incluyen el mejoramiento de instalaciones sanitarias, eléctricas, y de gases medicinales (un panel por cama), la optimización del ascensor para el traslado de pacientes en camillas, y reparaciones de fachada del edificio y de techos (con filtraciones), quedarían terminados la próxima semana.
El centro posee subsuelo, planta baja y tres pisos, sin embargo en la actualidad solo funcionan algunas de las dependencias con consultorios externos.
El primer y segundo piso cuentan uno con 20 habitaciones con baños privados, preparadas para dos camas en cada una; y otro, con un sector de terapia intensiva con cuatro camas y una sala de aislamiento con una cama más, además de una dependencia para médicos.
La Comuna intervino también para la puesta en funcionamiento de un sector destinado a la enfermería en ambos pisos.
Se prevé que los trabajos iniciados el pasado 26 de marzo queden concluidos durante la próxima semana, de manera que el lugar estaría operativo para la asistencia de la población en solo un par de días.
